Journalist is killed in Mato Grosso do Sul, West of Brazil

Eduardo Carvalho, journalist and owner of the UHNews website, was killed in front of his house in November 21st, in Campo Grande, in the western state of Mato Grosso do Sul. According to witnesses heard by the Police, two men in a motorcycle shot the journalist five times. He died before the medical assistance could arrive.

Carvalho was 51 years old and was also a retired military officer. The news he wrote for the Ultima Hora News website were about police investigations and police backstage.

According to the investigator in charge Marcos Takeshita, from the Homicide Division of Campo Grande, the Police are following various investigation lines. Takeshita doesn’t discard the possibility that the crime was because of his work as journalist, although the motivations are still unclear.
